Red Wine Ice Cream
A few weeks ago(!) we were in Cafayete a wine region in NE Argentina. Conveniently, there were lots of vineyards around the town and we had the day planned to visit as many as we could on Sunday afternoon, unfortunately the tastings were only available after a tour of the winery and very long talks about the wine making process. We soldiered through though, in the name of research and enjoyed the local Malbec grape (red) and Torrentes (white). One winery was a little bit further afield so went on tridems (think I´ve just made that up) which were bikes with 3 seats. Mag (pictured), Bec and I were slow learners and there were a couple of female screams when I was up front steering and changed my water bottle from one hand to the other, as we wobbled from one side of the road to the other.
I couldn´t resist trying the local speciality - a cabernet sauvignon ice cream. Just for added flavour though I had a double cone and had chocolate in the other. Delicious.
